GERARDO ORTIZ AND CALIBRE 50 TO KICK OFF  “DOS MUNDOS, UNA HISTORIA 4” TOUR  ON FEBRUARY 12 IN LAS VEGAS @ THE MANDALAY BAY

Los Angeles – January 19, 2016 - Regional Mexican superstars, Gerardo Ortiz and Calibre 50 will launch their highly anticipated tour, “Dos Mundos, Una Historia 4,” on February 12 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV, and in other major U.S markets including Los Angeles on February 13 at The Forum. This is the fourth edition of the concert series, produced by Del Entertainment, one of the leading concert promoter companies in the Regional Mexican music industry. The Dos Mundos Una Historia tour brand has had tremendous success with their previous tours, which included: Gerardo Ortiz, Banda El Recodo & Banda Los Recoditos (2012), Gerardo Ortiz & Julión Alvarez (2014), Gerardo Ortiz & Alfredo Olivas (2015).

Two-Time Grammy nominee Gerardo Ortiz, first made an impact by revolutionizing the corrido genre. From there, he transformed Regional Mexican and Latin music, becoming a cultural and fashion icon in the process. His musical themes are modern, with original musical arrangements, generally built around the tuba, accordion and acoustic guitar. His lyrics are fascinating and unforgettable. But his life story is just as remarkable as his songs…and that is why his fans recognize his authenticity.

In recent years, Gerardo Ortiz has dominated Regional Mexican music by winning prestigious awards including seventeen Premios Billboard de la Música Mexicana, nine Premio Lo Nuestro awards, earning six Platinum records as certified by the RIAA, and selling out festivals, dancehalls and arenas across the United States and Mexico.

Originally from Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Calibre 50 is a charting, award-winning quartet founded in 2010. The group members are, Eden Muñoz (vocals, accordion), Armando Ramos (guitars, backing vocals), Alex Gaxiola (tuba), and Erick García (drums). Their most recent album, Historias de la Calle reached No.1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart and their hit single “La Gripa” stayed on Top of the charts for several weeks.

The band has made great strides towards becoming legends of the corrido with their smart songwriting and tireless touring. Featuring traditional Sinaloan instruments like the tuba and the twelve-string guitar, the quartet's live shows evoke the region's placid, sun-drenched landscapes through narrative ballads of love and struggle.
