LatinLife Interview with KGO 810AM
The launch of LatinLife.com on October 1, 2014 was big news in the Bay Area. Scott Lettieri with news station KGO AM 810 recently interviewed co-founder Eric Osuna about the website.
In the interview, Lettieri highlighted that LatinLife.com features local events, awards, news and accomplishments within the Latin community. Osuna added that it also focuses on topics that are relevant to Latinos, such as education, health care and finances. He explained, “The website really reflects the culture of the (Latino) population. It’s event-based, (as) Latinos love to go out and have a good time.”
Osuna told Lettieri that he wants to raise awareness about the fact that 50 percent of California’s population is Latino, but the state lacks Latino-owned and –operated businesses. To encourage Latino entrepreneurs, LatinLife.com offers tips and Bay Area contacts for new and aspiring business owners.
When talking about the website’s content, Osuna informed Lettieri that he and LatinLife.com’s co-founders strive to “truly represent the marketplace.” He shared that 65 percent of Latinos in the country are born in the U.S., and most of these individuals primarily speak English. Osuna revealed, “They want to be able to relate to their culture, but in English.”
