Remembering Ariel Camacho
Rising Mexican Regional star Ariel Camacho passed away early Wednesday morning, February 25th, in a car accident in his native Sinaloa, Mexico. He was only 22.
Signed to Mexican label DEL Records along with Gerardo Ortiz and Regulo Caro, Camacho was on track to become a huge star in the Mexican Regional category, and was known for his guitar skills and soft vocals. He was on tour to promote his newest album El Karma when the devastating accident occurred.
"My heart is broken by the loss of Ariel Camacho," Angel Del Villar, the DEL Records president and founder, told Billboard in a statement Wednesday. "I knew he was going to transform the genre in Mexico and the United States. Millions of people would have become fans and would have gotten to know the man I did."
His death has received worldwide attention from People Magazine, The Daily Mail, US Weekly and TIME Magazine to name a few. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.
